Octoberfest! 7th Meeting of the Term (2013/2014)

October is an exuberant month for TUTMC. Why? Because Taylor's University Toastmasters Club celebrates its 3 year anniversary on the 4th of October 2013. Hence the theme Oktoberfest in this October meeting. It certainly shows that TUTMC has come a long way since then. To spice it up,our president who seems to be on the roll of having our meeting outdoors decided yet again to have our meeting outdoors(not that I am complaining).

I started of the meeting as toastmasters of the morning and then Dylan as president asked everyone what the month October meant to them. After that, it was the

And suddenly, we weren't as lucky as the previous meeting as it down poured halfway through the meeting, and all of us rushed to our safe zone, LT11. (We were drenched and LT11 was freezing yet we continued the toastmasters meeting)

Prepared Speech Session

"Shades On & Shades Off" Term meeting (2013/2014)

FINALLY we made used of taylor's infamous LAKESIDE. It was a joined meeting between HELP Toastmasters Club and Taylor's University Toastmasters Club, so you can imagine the amount the number of people that turned up. Armed with a pair of shades, everyone sat under the sun and hot weather throughout the meeting.

Six people in the crowd took up the challenge of giving a table topic:

Zhi Sun says everone wears a mask but it is better not to wear a mask to let others feel our sincerity.

Stephen explained how he was Truly Malaysian despite his outlook and that he prefers studying in Malaysia compared to studying overseas when asked whether its better studying local or abroad

When asked whether it is better to be single or in a relationship, Annie talked about her touching first love story and how it meant to her, which brings us all back to that moment in life. 


Next was the Prepared Speech Session!


Ashikin Aidura giving her second speech "the colour purple". She talked about how everyone of us are in fact BOTH of introvert and extrovert and that it is researched that nobody sane is at the extreme ends.

Mi Shan from Mid Valley TMC inspired all of us by telling us her life after SPM and that studying abroad without financial means is possible when we find the will to do it.



Jie Yen hopes guys get to treat their girlfriends like a princess with her speech title A Lesson Learnt
