A day of Coffee & Tea (5th Meeting of the of term)

ANOTHER EXCITING AND YET SUCCESSFUL MEETING! But this time it was a Joint Meeting between Help University Toastmaster Club and Taylor's University Toastmaster Club

The Theme of the day was
"Coffee & Tea"

On behalf of Taylor's University Toastmaster Club we would like to thank everyone form Help Toastmaster Club, Speecom Toastmaster and Mid Valley Toastmaster! If it wasn't for your effort and presence this wouldn't have been such a “Caf·fein·at·ed” meeting.

Now lets get straight to the point, the meeting started off with Azwan Jamaluddin (SAA) to start meeting and after his role he handed it over for the president's address.

We did not just have one president's address but TWO. Zahiruddin Bin Ahmad (Taylor's TM President)
on the left and Jack Ying ( Help TM President) on the right

Next up we had the Table Topic's session hosted by Woon Yean Yi and she gave topics based on the theme "coffee and tea" which was a funny and yet very exciting result when  brave speakers figured out solutions on what to say. The speakers were khaidir, ben, kah hang, melvin and of course Jack who was the winner yet again for our tables topics session.

After the Caffeinated table topics session

We had the 1st prepared speech by Azwan, TM CCM#5 | Benevolent Tyrant Redux and his evaluator was Siew Li from Help TM. His speech was based on politics and dictators.

Next we had....

Yean Yi,TM CCM#6| Anything & Everything and her speech was all about men. She was evaluated by Eugene Lau also from Help TM

The third speaker was other than Jack Ying, TM CCM#7| Shape Smart. His speech was based on how to shape your belly into SIX! It was about eating diets and the right ways on how to do the exercises. He was evaluated by Shaun Liew from Taylor's TM

Last but not least....

The last prepared speaker of the day was by Bryan Cheong, CC, CL ASM#2|. His speech was about tips  and ways on how to sell a product (Apple Macbook) to a customer (Yean Yi), at the end of the speech they had a Q&A session for the audience. He was evaluated by Fan Chen Kiat from Speecom TM

 A FULL HOUSE MEETING

THE PICTURE SAYS IT ALL ON HOW MUCH
FUN THEY HAD DURING THE MEETING

When there are table topics, speeches and evaluations given. At the end there will always be what we call PRIZE GIVING CEREMONY!

FIRST UP WE HAD JACK YING, WINNER FOR BEST TABLE TOPICS

SECOND, WE HAD BRYAN (gentle giant) FOR BEST SPEECH

LASTLY, WE HAD EUGENE LAU FOR BEST EVALUATION

A day of idioms. 22/9 (4th Meeting of the 2012/2013 term)

There was no 'word of the day' in today's club meeting. Instead, today's meeting was filled with idioms!

The 'idiom of the day' was 'to have a ball'.

A big THANK YOU to Mid Valley TMC, Taylor's College Subang Jaya TMC, Speecom TMC and also Monash TMC for filling up our slots for meeting roles.

Table topics master Isabell, our lovely immediate past president came up with topics such as 'The Grass is Greener On The Other Side' and 'The Pen is Mightier Than The Sword'.

All of the topics were actually idioms except for one which is entitled 'The World Would Be Better Without Idioms'.

IDIOMCEPTION. *Inception theme song plays..

The brave volunteers for the session were Seng Kiat, Shaun, Kessie, Fan Chen Keat, Wilson and..
Azwan, who got the award for best table topics for the detailed comparison between the might of a pen and a sword.

Next up it was the Prepared Speech Session.

First up was Shaun Liew who gave speech #3 in his CC manual about relating the iridescence of soap bubbles to life.
Shaun:"NO LA MA IT IS FLA-ER (flower), SINCE WHEN IS IT FLAR?!"

Azwan, was next with his speech title 'Benevolent Tyrant'.

Last but not least, Zahir entertained the audience with his quirky gestures whilst telling a story about his trip to Langkawi. Thus, the stone statue pose below.

Timothy Nakayama from Mid Valley TM gave an astounding evaluation: mind blown. Seriously.
".. And that is the hallmark of a dreamer, thinker, and a great future Toastmaster!" said Timothy.

Dylan on the other hand, was cute! (According to Stefanie Yau of Monash TM ;) ) As usual, he reinforced the importance of good usage of body language and hand gestures. Well done to Dylan for getting 2nd place in the evaluations contest of area B4/B5 :D

Victor Ong's (from MULTIPLE clubs) presence was warmly felt as he gave his evaluation for Zahir's speech. We hope you succeed in getting that DTM, Victor, good luck! :D

Last but not least, the prize giving ceremony.

BEST TABLE TOPICS GOES TO AZWAN FROM TUTMC!

BEST PREPARED SPEECH BY ZAHIR FROM TUTMC AS WELL!
