"Personality & Attitude" (TUTMC 2nd Meeting of the term 2013/2014)

The meeting started off with the president of the term 2013/2014, Dylan Chew, telling us about his personality and everyone else shared their personality. It was obvious that everyone of us had our own UNIQUE (word of the day) personality.

After the "warm up" session, the toastmaster of the morning (from INTI Subang University TMC) gave his address. Followed up by an invocation speech by Jeff Foong, CC(from DUtama Advanced).

And then during the table topics session, there was little twist of how the table topics was usually conducted. Seng Kiat (topicmaster of the day) reads out the first topic BEFOREHAND and let volunteers to own up. The topic was It is easier to talk, or is it easier to listen? And of course, to show great leadership, the first was no other than our own Taylor's University Toastmaster club's PRESIDENT, Dylan Chew!

Next, was the prepared speech session(total of 3 speeches): 

Zahir shares his habits and personality with the audience in his prepared speech, "Recollection" (in par with the theme of the day).

What the evaluators like and dislike about the speech? Areas of Improvement? Time for Evaluation session! Ben senior(there were two Ben attending the meeting that day) evaluated Zahir's Prepared Speech.

People who give great speech should showed gratitude and honored  This is to motivated others to strive to give a better speech and to set the bar between a great and good speech. The great speech are voted by the attended audience and *Drumrolls* the winner goes to...

"Freshness Of The Seasons" TUTMC 1st Meeting of the term (2013/2014)- 13.7.2013

HELLO GUYS! WELCOME TO TAYLOR'S UNIVERSITY TOASTMASTER'S CLUB 1st MEETING OF THE TERM!!! *applause*

For our very first meeting we were all filled with euphoria when the SAA called the meeting to order sharp 9.30am! ON TIME! Been ages since we started on TIME!


He then passed the floor to the New President of TUTMC Dylan Chew, CL for his first ever Presidential address! (Was so NERVOUS!) 


Handsome Dylan (HAHA) then got the ball rolling by getting everyone to introduce themselves, where their from and if there is anything new they took up this term.

The control of the meeting was then passed down to our neighboring club (Monash TMC) Stanley Teng, CC



After his long..... interesting introduction on what is Toastmasters and its history.

"Dr Ralph C. Smedley brandchild of TI, 1924 in the basement of YMCA Santa Ana, California. TUTMC charted in the year 2010 and its among one of the 13,500 clubs in the world.


The spotlight was then stolen by Eri Tang,TM from Friendship TMC who then hosted the Table Topics session




I was the first victim Dylan Chew, CL and my title was "If you are a waiter and a customer was rude to you, would you accidentally spill food on them or think about doing this?"

I nearly chose to spill it over the customer but... nah....

The next on the victim list was Hong Ben, TM with his title "If you were a book which book would you be?"
I bet it was an extremely thick book :D


The third person to volunteer was non other than Desmond Cheong, TM President of INTI TMC! His title was "If you could be an invisible man, where would you go and what would you do?"
He chose to hover around the girls toilet :P


The fourth speaker who was from MONASH TMC. Mash,TM. He had to talk about "What's something you wish everyone knew about you?"





The fifth speaker and 2nd last speaker for the Table topics session was none other then Jeff foong from D'Utama Advanced TMC with his title "How would you describe me to your mother?"
Looks to me Jeff was given a sign, unfortunately he already has a GF



Last but not least we had Shalini Jayendran, CL (Another MONASH TM) with her title "Decisions are being made right now, question is are you making them or are you letting others make them for you?"

It was then evaluated by the Table Topics Evaluator Melvin Tan, TM from INTI TMC

AND THAT CONCLUDES OUR TABLE TOPICS SESSION! YAAY!


NEXT WOULD BE THE PREPARED SPEECH SESSION!



The session was then started off with a bang with Wilson Wong, CC educating everyone on how to sell a product ACM#1 (Advanced Communicator Manual) "The effective salesperson" feat Fan Chen Kiat, DTM

Ng Shu Hui, TM then gave her 3rd speech from the Competent Communicator manual with her title " Language Learning"



Right after that interesting speech it was then time for a RECESS!!

Ng Ruiyi, TM from Monash TMC delivered her sweet speech project 3 entitled "Memories from the down under" dedicated to Hesmondjeet Oon and Jonathan Ding

Shalini Jayendran,CL (Monash TMC) then took control of the floor with her strong command of English and vocal variety with her speech project 6 entitled " She made a difference"

Looks more like she was scolding her children! *Yikes*


Of course when there are 4 great speeches there is always evaluations to be conducted as well

The Evaluations session was conducted by the President of Monash TMC Radhika Divya, TM (soon to be CC) contestant in District 51 Speech and Table Topics contest! (HAHAHA sorry i just had to brag about her) and she gave her General evaluation like a PRO and gave very good points for our club.
